That's pretty cool. Usually in such conversions they go nuts and redo everything with modern stuff. Pretty much only replacing the engine and leaving everything else original (or appearing so) is a nice touch.

I know the Porsche "purist" would flip the F out, but you are right except for the lack of noise you wouldn't even know.

There was a series on MotorTrend On Demand a year or so ago about a British shop that was electrifying classic cars. The show wasn't amazing, but I did like the lighter touch they took with the conversions. *Edit* It was called Vintage Voltage. The first episode was about a Karmann Ghia, episode 2 was a speedster replica, and the 10th/final episode was a 914.

In CA, I suspect this will eventually going to be the only way to keep interesting cars made after 1975 on the road unless CARB unexpectedly dies in a fire.

Agree with gnat - leaving the instrumentation and everything in its stock presentation is very, very nice.

I'm pretty sure these are redundant.

LMFAO well gnat's opinions are generally poor, however, even a broken clock can be right twice a day.

There, is that better?

That reminds me of the chimps that ate the hands, face, and ass off a guy a few years back...

"Davis survived a horrific chimpanzee attack at a California wildlife rescue center in March 2005 - but not before his nose and mouth were ripped off, an eye was gouged out, his left foot was mangled and most of his fingers and buttocks were devoured."

I believe the chimps also ate his junk, but the author appears to have neglected that detail. OTOH (heh), you're probably not going to get much action with no face, hands, or ass, so it might not really matter whether your junk is intact.

The moral of this story: never take a birthday cake to a chimpanzee sanctuary.
