I believe you will find no “e” in any permutation of “-gluing.”

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Those look good. I looked at a 996tt back in 2015 that had 997 sport seats. I thought they looked great.

I used my 955TTS to bring my nice 996TT to it's winter hibernation spot.

Did an oil change yesterday in prep to putting it away. I've been lucky that it hasn't snowed too much already. Haven't been driving it much, it REALLY needs new tires but I'm waiting for spring because otherwise it'll have flat spots on brand new tires. I do miss that third gear pull I got to do after the oil though. I am still using Porsche oil, I might as well have a sucker sign around my neck.

Had a track day coming up so I installed a new steering wheel and an adapter to make it removable. It is really fantastic! Way better than the factory wheel for track use. The MOMO wheel has an NFC tag in it to prove it's genuine.

Not exactly 996, but... ordered a four wheel brake job for the Cayenne. Of course the TTS version has a one-year only extra huge front brake so the front rotors are not cheap, best I found was $700 each! They are worn way beyond spec because no one wants to drop $1400 on rotors for a $6000 car! I feel that the brake calipers also need to be rebuilt as I suspect sticking pistons in the passenger's front. Not wanting to pay $600 for a caliper rebuild kit from Porsche I called up Girodisc. The CTTS rebuild kit is not listed on their site but the hooked my up anyway. The CTTS calipers are the same as used on the Lamborghini Gallardo (!). So four caliper rebuild kits delivered (let's see, that would be 20 pistons) totaled $240.

Against the advice offered here I order a pair of rear tires. Yes, they should be changed in full sets - money is an issue at the moment with the brake parts though. To get them mounted I needed to bring the Cayenne 20" wheels to the shop. So I changed up the wheels for a day:

I would have put the 996 fronts on too, they don't fit over the front brakes! I did not drive it like this! Although having spent the previous week in LA seems like this sort of wheel treatment is still popular out there.

Holy shit,$700 each for steel rotors?!?!

When I replaced the rotors on the X1/9 a couple of years ago, the rotors were like $12 each.

Fiat vs. Porsche...

"Porsche tax" is still alive and well.
