My Christmas holiday experience 2022. In hospital since Saturday a week ago. Went super hypotonic. Emt’s thought heart, but that’s another story for a larger keyboard . Today is day 9 peeing in a cup eating jello. Diagnosis: gallstones blocking bile duct pissing off the pancreas. You know the old saying it’s not nice to F with Mother Nature include the pancreas with that sentiment! Galdbladder was removed yesterday and feel better already.
So Ho Ho Merry Christmas to all you folks.

Oh no! Billy how are you doing a week later?

So here is an update. Been pounding antibiotics to defeat the cdif infection I got stirred up during my hospital stay. The old adage of the cure is worse than the cause seem to somewhat apply here. No energy. Most food taste like crap. Can’t sleep. Can’t get comfortable either sitting up or laying down.
At least one positive today. Went to surgeon for a follow up and he pulled the tube out of the side of my chest. Small success I guess. As I said above take care of your pancreas and your gallbladder. And I surgeon also said 3 to 4 months to gain fall recovery.
Next call is to get a group shipment lined up for SD…NAW!

On the serious side, what you shared Billy sounds like progress and you're keeping as positive a mindset as you can. Seek to make "net positive progress" each day. That's how we kept our sanity doing work in Nigeria--each day in which we made "net positive progress" was a great day. Looking at things that way made the inevitable setbacks we experienced there less impactful.

I totally don't have a letter on my desk just waiting for a stamp that offers my condolences to a grieving widow and letting her know I'd be glad to help her address certain aspects of her late husbands estate. Definitely no letter here...
