The black one’s basically sold, and I need something to drive this winter other than the 996tt, so I bought a white over (what else) red 2015 Macan S out of the Seattle auction on Wednesday. It will arrive on Wednesday. It has 75k miles and no accidents. The thing I really like about it is that it has some really nice mods done to it:
-Carbon fiber and red leather steering wheel
-21” body color Sport Classics
-Porsche OEM upgraded shift lever
-red instrument dials plus others
Plus, it appears to be in great shape, so obviously was owned by an enthusiast.

Re: On Becoming a Macan "Expert"
And, yesterday, I was perusing the “Online Vehicle Exchange“ listings, where dealers make their inventory available for purchase while keeping the cars on their own lots. So, it’s not really an auction - the idea is basically to split the profit on a car if another dealer has a buyer that wants the spec of car that’s on your own lot. Normally I don’t bother with those listings because you pay too much to get the car.
Just for the helluvit, I put in a reasonable, but below market value offer in a car that inexplicably caught my attention. And the selling dealer took it (at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night). I assume he needed to raise some cash because even in the simulcast auctions, you generally have to pay above market value to get this spec. So, I am happy to get it. It is an Arizona car, and it should arrive Friday or Saturday.
I really didn’t need to buy this car as the white one is still on its way. But now that I’ve sold a few really nice Macans, people here locally are starting to get interested in buying a Macan and asking me about them. I’m not sure which I will use as my daily driver, and I may just advertise them both and keep the one that doesn’t sell first.
This one is a 2017 GTS model, Carmine Red over black. The thing I really like about it is the 14-way, ventilated seats. GTS models come standard with 8-way seats with an alcantara insert that isn’t ventilated. Plus I like the 21” black Sport Classics.

Yeah, if only I could get a red interior on that GTS, then have body color Sport Classics like the white one has, then that would be something . . .32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 5:42 pm
