Heh. I just got their reply. "The best we can do is 24 months."

So, I'll start moving my shit to cheapassvoipproviderdotcom on Monday. I'm definitely not gonna pay $7,200 over 2 years for $1,500 worth of stuff I really don't need at all. I started priming the cancellation pump back in July of last year just in case and have the email conversations to prove it.

Now what I REALLY need to do is to resist the urge to be an asshole...just move the shit over and be done with it.

It's time to try the W. "kinder, gentler" thang, so I need a new mantra ("F**KTHOSEMOTHERF**KERS!" needs a rest, anyway). Any suggestions?

I suppose what I would do in this scenario is gather quotes from their competition (which I'm presuming exists,) and come back with "you're not competitive and I have a business with a bottom line to run."

That's what I've done in the past - but at this point phone lines are kind of a formality rather than a necessity. I can open an account with any of half a dozen VOIP providers and have all of my numbers ported in a few days; I was just giving the old guy the opportunity to keep the business (which he fumbled). For the volume of phone communications we do, it's not even worth the time to shop it out to more "traditional" vendors.

It is, however, worth the time to bitch about it here. Heh.

Not quite sure yet.
Good to see they are still on top of things over there. I visit the 996TT forum a couple of times a month, maybe post a comment once a month. But , if I ever get banned (again) over there, I doubt I would even realize it before the ban expired.

Schnelly pointed out earlier this year that people just don't use the forums like they did 10 years ago - the activity has moved to social media sites. Judging by the 996TT forum, traffic on Rennlist has to be a small percentage of what it was back in, say, 2015. I see the same threads with few or no new posts at the top of the 996TT forum every time I visit.
Many new users and one of them showed ignorance and I got pissy in public.
Turns out new user got banned and according to some of the posts on the thread, I haven't been banned so maybe a time out. The Mods haven't informed me.
Whatever the case I enjoy RL and spend much more in the OT & P&D Threads.
All the best to Gnat and hope he is doing well. and shout out to all the old RL members who defected over here. 8-) 8-)

Have the same 2006 997 C4 that I purchased in 2021
Also the same Airstream I purchased last year.

I hardly drive the Porsche - Love my Mercedes SUV diesel. So comfortable and easy to run around in.
...Also makes driving the Porsche more fun cause I hardly use it or remember what it looks like :D
SImilar to being married and taking long long solo trip then returning home 8-)

Missing the old RL days. Lots of fun & great group of people.
Whats up with Gnat?? Hope all is well.

Well, looks like we'll have 2 really good conference championship games to watch this Sunday.

It's interesting that they put 3 QBs and one receiver in that graphic. It's not like Jared Goff is some kind of rummy just handing the ball off.

Well...the three QBs included in the NFL's graphic are on their respective divisions' Pro Bowl Squads. For Detroit, it would've raised fewer questions if the NFL had put the Lion's TE, Pro Bowler Sam LaPorta, on the graphic.

What I learned today:

A football coach in the NCAA can break more rules than Bernie Madoff did on Wall St and the NFL will still welcome him with open arms as long as his team won all their games.

Truly a defining statement on our society.
