As far as the car, after 18 years I'm realizing how little I know about it. The funny part was that at times I had to fight it to do what DT was telling me because it was screaming "stop holding me back you fucker! I can do SOOOO much more!" :lol:

DT, I think, is giving me too much credit. At least at my completely novice level it was just a combination of looking up (so I wasn't getting nervous about the current corner) and just letting the car do it's thing. The thing really felt like it was driving itself at those times I managed to relax.
That all sounds like so much fun...even the thrill ride! Good on both you guys.

I know everyone has probably seen this but Holy Crap! This thing is FAST. Driver must have tener cojones the size of a volleyball! He doesn't lift in corners where it appears that he absolutely has to. Even more impressive to me is the Spa record vids from trackside. At times the thing seems to be CGI enhanced but I know it isn't.

I used to think I wanted a V8 in my Miata.... then I found out about THIS!!!!!

Over double the power of a stock Miata and lighter! And I get to keep my sweet shifting Mazda transmission.... oh my!

Wowza! It reminds me of a post a long time ago from a 911 driver on track with a group of Miatas. He said he would pull them down the straights but the next corner they would be back on him like "a bunch of bees." This fits that bill but looks like fun. So the Honda engine fits in there pretty easily??

K24 swaps are doable but it'd be cheaper and actually easier to do an LS swap.

The "economical" HP approach is either turbo it or ecotec swap. Ecotec swap is 200 ish wheel HP for $5700 turnkey: https://www.ecotecmiata.ca/turn-key-conversion

I’ve priced it all out and the K24 swap is cheaper than either V8 option. It’s still a near 10k project but an LS1 swap is a 13k project if you want to run an unknown used engine and trans with over 100k miles. The LS also requires more cutting and welding, and I’m a good mechanic but not a welder/fab guy. Ecotec no thanks.... If I’m going with another 4, it’ll be from Honda.

Less than you'd think. I think the weight distro is 51/49 or 52/48 when done. Of course you're left with a car that tries to kill you at all times.
