Civic Type R

Post by 32wildbilly » Wed Aug 08, 2018 6:19 am

So the youngest kid(40) told me last night he is at the top of the list for the next Civic Type R that hits the Honda dealer. Problem is he is 6'5" is a weight lifter, so read BIG and not sure he will fit in the car. I told him if he doesn't fit to call me and I would buy it. The wife looked it up today and told me "you need one of these." If you're not familiar with this car, do some reading before you flame me. Hope he doesn't fit...hope he doesn't fit...did I just say that out loud?

I know...I know...boy racer wing and all that. I think all the body styling stuff is functional not just there for looks which makes it interesting to me. Review the performance stuff. It puts up some good numbers. Besides I'm too old to want to drive a car just for the appearance. Nobody looks at old guys!

Gets good reviews, and they seem to have solved the torque steer issue. Still, more fake scoops than an ice cream parlor sign. They seem to be taking design cues from the guys who buy stick-on chrome down at Autozone.

I have not verified but the kid says all of those scoops and stuff are actually functional like brake cooling vent and air effects stuff, not just styling.

Well good luck with it in any case. Sounds like it’s fun to drive.
