Fix the 996, and *we'll* be happy with you! ;) :D
Have you not been paying attention? This group of asshats is never happy

Unfortunately the one your in, isn't always an honest one. I never said they'd flip it and tell you it was in a minor accident, and if the car has less than 100,000 miles on it there's a good chance some asshole could get that amount of money........... My apologies for being a pessimist .....

YEP! Add to that Facebookers, tweeters, and about 40 other "social media" apps. None of this crap should be available when driving.(this is the opinion of an old guy who believes the world is out here and not within that tiny screen)
Never gonna make you cry...

Yea, it's ok. We're still in hangover stage. While drunk, Cuda actually contemplated buying a 997. Can you believe that? Amazing how people will act while intoxicated! Now that he is sobered up, I think he's just going to fix the darn thing. I mean, who really wants a 997 with those screwed up headlights always?

Oh boy. I'm really sorry to see this, Cuda. It sucks. It's crazy how expensive repairs end up being on these cars. The initial estimate for damage repair on on my red car was around 19k. When all was said and done, it was... 30k!

I think you should go ahead and get a turbro now. They're durable, dependable, and you know you NEED one. You can drive mine if you'd like to get an idea. If you see this in the next hour, I'll bring it to the beach today (Carlsbad). Otherwise, it's a convertible day.

Oh, hey, I've got a shop to not recommend to you. Ha! ;)

And, oh yeah, that'll buff right out.

Thanks for the offer! I'll start investigating other cars more once I know what's going on w/ insurance company. 30k? Youch! Did you end up using Caliber in vista? I recall that your experience sucked.

Not a problem. The offer stands whenever you choose to exercise it. The turbo really is a fun car, and worth driving if you're going to replace the blue car. But having said that, all 996's are a blast, which is why I kept my blue cab even though I promised myself I'd sell it in order to rationalize buying the turbo. Just can't do it yet.

Yes, my car started at Caliber in Vista. Then the manager there called me and asked if it would be okay if they sent it to their Costa Mesa shop because they supposedly had Porsche certified techs there. The bodywork and paint match is excellent. Actually, I should rephrase that. They replaced one fender, the hood, the front bumper, all three radiators, both a/c condensers, all brackets and some miscellaneous stuff. So no real bodywork as much as was paint the hood, fender and front bumper and replace them. Oh, and I had them add the aftermarket (Precision Porsche) lower rockers. The electronic hood release still doesn't work (using just the cable now) and they gave it back with mismatched lug nuts that they promised to replace, but never did. All told with returned stays in body shop jail, it was gone for over 6 months and still isn't right. Excellent paint match though ;)
