Baling wire is harder to find in SoCal.

If you don't want to roll your own, Amazon sells 24" Sawzall hacksaw blades.

I have no better ideas for cutting that mess of frayed cable, but this thread has reinforced my desire to never own a:
RV
Camping trailer
Boat
Swimming Pool
Vacation cabin in the woods
Vacation house on the beach

Still in the planning stages. Gonna pull the inside portion of the cable through the other pulleys and see if things work free from there. If that doesn't make any progress I'll have to regroup and rethink doing it myself. It's mobile as currently configured so I'm going to be very careful about the choices I make. Having to have someone come to it won't make fixing it cheaper.

Yeah I suppose making it someone else's problem is sometimes the best option. I'm sure this is something an experienced RV mechanic has seen many times.
