I always lose the damn straw. Probably have three cans of stuff missing the straws. Where the hell do the straws go??? Must be a small black hole on my workbench...FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 7:58 pm I also lubed the wastegate actuators. I had to make a second trip to AdvanceAuto to get some silicone spray lube. I’m intrigued by the design of the cap, with the 2 notches - what the hell are they for? I thought maybe for the little red straw taped to the side of the can, but it doesn’t really fit. Plus, even if the straw fit in there, what’s the purpose? It wouldn’t be a good spot to store the straw. What say you?

Ha ha! Good plan. Will give that a try when I get my next new can of something with a straw.gnat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 7:27 amThe Straw Gnomes are the sworn enemies of the Underwear Gnomes. I suppose if you jammed it in there real hard, you could get it to fit (that's what she said!). But, it still seems like a bad place to try to store the thing as it sticks out well beyond the diameter of the can and would be susceptible to being knocked out of the holder (if that's what it is). Hell, I might just be a PITA and go ask the manufacturer. I assume they have a spot on their website to ask questions.

Welp, now we know - I guess it's best not to overthink things.
Other than not fitting the plastic straw and sticking out way past the can edges, it's a great idea!

Are you doing the ceramic coating yourself? Any good info out there on how to DIY?

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?
I was, then I realized that upon closer inspection I had embedded what I suspect is bird crap in the last coat, so the car is going for paint correction on Monday, then I will start again.
It was interesting that I had not noticed it in the past, but new eye glasses revealed fine white outlines that I had missed. Once the correction is done, I will be applying 4/5 coats of Avalon and see how it turns out, and I'll start a thread on how to if anyone is interested.

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?
That would be a very popular thread. I think a lot of people are interested in ceramic coating, but the cost of a professionally applied coat is just too much for me.2fcknfst wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:03 am I was, then I realized that upon closer inspection I had embedded what I suspect is bird crap in the last coat, so the car is going for paint correction on Monday, then I will start again.

Re: What did you do to your 996TT Today?
Well, I'll see how the paint correction goes - at the very least, the car is 17 years old, so it probably could use it!
