As an aside - I've never had a gaming rig that was all SSD before. It's so quiet...and the boot time. Holy shit.

I was thinking last night of the 3-node FidoNET BBS I used to run out my room as a kid. I used to dial into Las Vegas from midnight to 4AM to pull down my chunk of the West Coast mail feed. We could get a message anywhere in the world in a day or two using nothing but off-peak long distance. "Mail" back then was largely comprised of grainy, interlaced images of naked chicks...
