Still amazed that it only poked a hole in the tire. #winning

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Floor jack handles (or similar-length pieces of 1-1/2 inch thick-walled pipe) aren't much fun...

Damn! The drive shaft Kalashnikov was referring to was kicked up by a car in front of me on my way to Vegas when the driver ahead drifted onto the shoulder - it speared my tire and busted my side-marker light, but otherwise my 996 was unscathed. Sorry you weren't as lucky.

Damn! Is right! Sorry for the damage. Glad for you it didn't gain another 1.5 feet of altitude before contact.
Never gonna make you cry...

This was also kicked up by a car ahead of me, on a busy Texas interstate heading to a Saturday cars and coffee get-together. Like Billy said, I was very lucky it wasn't a couple of feet higher. Additionally, others were also lucky that it didn't bounce off my car into oncoming traffic -- that would've been brutal.

In addition to having the necessary repairs made, I took the opportunity at the same time to also install the third radiator kit (that had been sitting on the bench for a couple of years) and inlet grills (to protect the A/C condensers and third radiator from damage via small rocks and debris), and had the whole car paint corrected, ceramic coated, and PPF'd. Net result -- car was better after the event than before.

Unrelated: made beef shawarma yesterday for tonight's dunner. The frozen, sliced, yet-to-be-cooked result:

Dammit, Kalash - you've got me looking at Maseratis now. This morning, there was a 2014 Ghibli S Q4 (404 hp, AWD), black over red interior, 79k miles, really nice condition. Auction value estimate was $13,400. But, it had a minor right rear corner accident in 2016 and a mileage discrepancy (although clearly just a misreading by a service tech) on the Carfax report. Gorgeous car.

I told myself that if I could get it for $12,500, I'd pull the trigger. It went for $13,000. So, I was $500 off from being the proud new owner of an Italian ticking time bomb.
