Years ago I heard (at least during the height of British rule in India) that Bentley's euphimisim for breaking down was "failure to proceed". I always loved that. What a great way to take the sting out of a negative situation.

Tonight I find out that apparently there is a student of Bentley in the Turkish government. The official description of the plane going off the end of the runway is apparently "unexpected runway excursion".
