I was planning to go visit Mom down in St. Pete, FL this weekend... looks like that's on hold for now.
Mom reports that nothing of note happened in her area. Electricity was not out. The only damage of note was a tree branch that fell on her lawn.
The folks down a little South of St. Pete took a beating though...
Glad to hear that. Apparently the people south of Tampa weren't expecting it to hit them like it did. I guess the storm veered a bit south.

Good news. My parents in Lakeland reported about the same for them. Lots of wind and rain last night, but my dad just had to rake up a bunch of leaves and small branches from the yard.
My BIL's ex-wife's family in Bradenton mostly made out OK (only heard about one hole in a roof), but a bunch of their neighbors got it a lot worse as they didn't prep as well (e.g. no sandbags, storm shutters, etc..).
A friend of mine was seriously considering flying to Tampa to “experience a hurricane.”
I was in Gulfport/Biloxi to do some training RIGHT after Katrina - and I have no urge to ever be a “disaster tourist.”
Every time I think I know just how fuc*ed up people can get, someone ups the ante.
I hope those family/friends in FL are safe. My current FL employee and former VP of sales are both good…

So today I learned that "fisting lube" is available in one-gallon containers. This leaves me with many unanswered questions, but I'm done with teh Google for today.

I have a feeling that there is an alternate non cringe inducing meaning to that term, but as I am at work I will wait for Billy to Google it and confirm if it is safe or not.
