Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
My battery is kaput. I had it on the maintainer, but it's not holding a charge - and I tried to start it anyway.
Which blew out my fuel trims and emissions readiness status.
And my smog check is due.
This means that I will have to spend all weekend driving the 996 to get the drive cycle cleared.
Shucks.

Pee Pee Eye blew out his other rear knee on Saturday during a spirited round of the zoomies - stupid ol' dog - and it was touch and go for a bit. The pain made him ill, and he has a history of hemorrhagic gastritis (he starts barfing up blood). It was a disgusting weekend involving much laundry, but he's doing better after two days of boiled chicken breast and white rice.
He's still alert and tail-waggy...and if I have to build him a butt-trailer, so be it.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
We had TPLO surgeries on both of Emma's knees in 2021. But she was only 2 years old when they were done. Pretty sure I wouldn't have done it if she were PeePeeEye's age. The cost was $4,000 per knee, but we had insurance that dropped it to $1,600 total. I doubt my barely-dog-tolerating wife would have agreed to plunk down $8,000 if we didn't have the insurance. Then, there is the stress and pain of surgery and not insignificant recovery time. The doctor didn't recommend doing both knees at once, so it was do one knee, wait 4 months, then do the other knee with about 3 months of recovery on that one.5chn3ll wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 10:49 am Pee Pee Eye blew out his other rear knee on Saturday during a spirited round of the zoomies - stupid ol' dog - and it was touch and go for a bit. I had a thing done
She is an Etsy shop in Fl and once I work this out I'll sort out how anyone that wants one can order without the extra proofing costs.
Was cheap too. She misunderstood what I wanted for the 3rd (996O car in the front and the 996O text on the bottom of the left side) and I need to see if we can get that sorted out.

That's a nice thing. I approve.
Frunky, we were quoted $8K for Pee Pee Eye's right knee a couple of years back - but even back then, anesthesia wasn't worth the risk.
The ol' dog is doing better - although he tried to jump up onto the couch last night because he's an idiot. The vet says it will eventually scar over like his right knee did...

I winced when our Dobie Heeler mix needed both knees at 1500 each. Yeah, that was a while back now that I think of it. Nobody talked with me about not doing anything, waiting for scar tissue. But with everything you've mentioned, that sounds like a good decision. Painful to watch while you wait for the scar to develop.
On another note, that same dog had a long tail that constantly wagged. He slammed it into an outside corner one day. Broke it. Yelped. Big sharp bend where it once was straight. We taped it, which did little to help. For several weeks we went through wag, yelp, wag, yelp, repeat for 24/7. But eventually all was well.
Good luck.
