Ya gotta love the website algorithms at advance auto.com. I’m on there searching first for rear brake rotors, then rear brake pads for the 928. “You may also need . . . Air Freshener.”

We got 14 inches of snow on Saturday, which really isn't that big of a deal. My Dad on the South Shore of MA got 27 inches of snow, which really is a big deal. All is well now.

Both are significant snow amounts! You east coasters have been getting clobbered lately.

He is up in a state that actually knows what to do with snow and has their DOT built out to handle it. So 14" sounds like a lot, but it really shouldn't be that big of a deal. When I was in Watertown, NY we'd get 24" overnight and still have school the next morning. In VA 0.5" freaks people out so the 12" we got in a few hours at the beginning of the month rightly fucked everything up.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:35 am Both are significant snow amounts! From what I was seeing on the news, while the 27" of snow is indeed a bigger deal, it was the storm surge and resulting ice that is really making a mess of things near the ocean.

^Yes exactly. We will close everything in a panic when snow falls here (it happens,) because not only do we have 0 removal infrastructure but nothing here is built to hold heavy snow on the top of it so roofs start sliding off and stuff - it sucks!!

Yes, at least in Mass we're ready for snow. The roads were clear to blacktop within 2 hours of the storm ending; you have to keep up with it or it turns into unplowable snow cement.
Years ago I was in Atlanta during a snowstorm where 2 inches of snow fell. The governor was on TV asking everyone to stay home!

This area has a robust snow removal plan, but 14" is still a lot of snow and 27"...fergit about it.

The youngest kid lives in N.C. They got some snow and ice a couple of weeks back and he had to call off the first shift at the plant. Of course snow is bad but ice sucks.

Meanwhile, here in the San Bernardino mountains, we have 0 snow on the ground. Last year at this time, my wife and I were building a luge park in the front yard for the neighborhood kids.
