Give humanity another 100 years, and we'll be whacking each other with sticks like the good ol' days.

Them's the brakes.

I still haven't owned an EV of any make, but I _am_ a Hyundai fanboi. I used to kill Mustangs @ Qualcomm with my supercharged Tiburon GT...

Yeah, that's the motor the kid blew up. He stuck a huge-ass throttle-body on it thinking that it would make more power, but he didn't bother tuning it (I ran an Apexi Neo piggyback tuner), so it leaned out and ventilated the block. I felt bad for the kid - he was in the Navy, sold his own Tiburon AND borrowed money to buy mine, and blew it up within a few months. I think he was about $20K upside-down on a roller worth about $500, and the last I heard, he was trying to scrape the money together to buy a built short-block for it. He's probably still paying on that thing.

You don't have to pass smog for 8 years on a new vehicle in CA, so if you're gonna mess with the engine, you have some time to enjoy it without having to go back to stock to pass emissions testing. Back in the day, you could just slide $50 across the counter and your smog test results would look amazingly similar to the shop owner's car, but CARB cracked down on that stuff. Or... you know... that's what I read somewhere. :D

It was a TOTAL waste of money - just selling the Tib and buying a faster car would have been much more economical - but man, it was fun. I had the NEO mounted in the roof console (where your sunglasses normally go), so I could switch tunes at a traffic light. Much fast, very furious. Danger to manifold.
