Who says you can’t go fishin’ in a 911?

Fishin' hauling is easy unless you are wanting to haul a sea rod that doesn't separate.
Not that I golf any more but I read Dr. Porsche made a statement that "Porsche would never build a car that didn't have room for a set of gold clubs." I am at a loss of where one would put a full set of modern gold clubs and bag in a 996 like my C4S.

I'm happy to report that the 2024 996Outpost Outrun to Kansas City was a great time!
We had 100% turnout. (All 3 guys showed up ). But despite the small numbers we had all the fun and hi jinx that one would expect from this group getting together in person. 02TX996Cab and I swiftly became employed as the Hotel Indigo's most experienced valet drivers once they learned we knew how to drive a stick! Frunky and I had an impromptu drag race with his 914 and his Turbro. (Would you believe the Turbro was faster?) We got a private tour of the spectacular Kansas City Auto Museum. And we capped the weekend off with KC Auto Museum's Car Affair at The Underground. Think two full-size city car-park floors worth of classic and special cars with live music and stellar catering. What I can say is; all 3 attendees are preregistered for next year's event.
I must say, on a personal level, how wonderful it was to spend time with 02TX and Frunky in person. Sure this forum is not a very large one, but it certainly is a special one. To say we can grab a random sampling of members of different ages and backgrounds and have them meet up to become fast friends is a hallmark of a great community. I'm very proud to be a part of it!
I MUST give a special thank you and shout out to Jeff, FRUNKenstein. My reward for making a small effort on my part was nothing short of VIP treatment in Kansas City. You can see above that Frunky absolutely insisted I take his 996TT for the weekend; a gesture that completely transformed the quality of my trip for the better. The hospitality and effort that you put forward for 02 and I while we were visitors in your city truly meant a lot to me and was well appreciated. It was really fun to meet your great PCA chapter and experience a bit of the rich KC car culture.
With that - Frunky took all the rest of the pictures!

The Kansas City get-together was a lot of fun! I would to do it again next year in conjunction with The Car Affair, and hopefully with some additional Outposters!
I really appreciate Adam and Rich coming in to support the auto museum - it meant a great deal to me. I really enjoyed the time spent with them. Both gave me great feedback on the museum and The Car Affair to make it even better next year. Plus, I doubt we’ll have 3 days of storms next year.

I'm bummed that I could not make it - but I have Shit Going On (tm). However, I did get away long enough to take this pano in Big Bear. Been dealing with my pop, getting Mrs. S's parents moved into a safer place, and work stuff.
If you're a fan of Resident Alien - my life for the past few months can be encapsulated by "This is some bullshit."
But goddamn, this isn't hard on the eyes.

Every time I see that Ferrari - or any Testarossa - Crockett's Theme plays in my head. I think I have problems.
