Drain plug washer question
Ok since we had 14.5" of snow I figured the season was over and decided to change the oil in the P-car. Here's the question: When I pulled the drain plug there was no crush washer to be found! Is it possible that when I changed the oil mid-summer that I neglected to put a washer on before I reinstalled the plug and that it didn't leak any oil? The bottom of the pan and all the suspension is popcorn dry so I know it wasn't leaking. I looked in the pan hole and even "fingered the sump" and I find nothing resembling a washer! Could it be there and just stuck tightly to the pan? Did aliens steal it or first sign of dementia?

Re: Drain plug washer question
You sure that it wasn't just stuck good on the drain plug? I had that happen on the P!g when I did my first oil change. Wasn't until I had wiped the plug off and looked closely that I found it and pried it off.
Of course maybe the obvious question is: If you forgot to put the washer on, did you also forget to put oil in and that's why none leaked out?

Re: Drain plug washer question
That was the honest question: If I left the washer off wouldn't it leak oil and no I drained out the normal amount of oil yesterday?? My fear is it is stuck to the pan and just not readily discernible. More info it is an LNE magnetic plug torqued to 19 ft.lbs. as instructed so I'm doubtful that I "glued" the washer to the pan with too much torque.

Re: Drain plug washer question
Well it's got a crush washer on it this time. In six months if it's gone there be some weird stuff going on. If I come back with the same question as this time somebody remind me of this fact and suggest I go to the Doctor...

Popped popcorn is super dry unless you are like the wife who floats it in what theaters euphemistically call "Butter". However, gnat is right what does a boy living in wheat country know about rice (heh). Any type of rice (heh).

Or change the locks on the garage door. Cause it would totally be in character for an Outposter to be sneaking in and fucking with you
