I was advised to avoid BP 93 octane for my '87 Benz V8. I had been using it and the difference showed in that old motor.
I remember the good old days when I was first driving in Omaha, NE. There was a gas station in the late 60's called Vickers-Safeway that had multi-grade premium fuels, all the way up to Vickers-Safeway 1000, which was 115 octane and had a blue tint to it. It was too much for the 65 Olds 442 I had, so I'd get 1/2 tank of 95 and 1/2 of the 115. Mercy.
