Hood latch issue

Post by noahsdad » Mon May 10, 2021 5:00 pm

Hello fellow 996ers,

My fronk light stopped working, and my indy said its a failure of the micro switch in the latch mechanism. Any advice on how to fix it? Is the boxer assembly the same? lots of those on ebay, but no 996 ones. Factory price is outrageous. Muchas gracias,

:D

Bobby(b3freak) has been through a latch problem and has a good repair write-up. I will jiggle him for you.

happy to help... for us to find the culprit I need to ask you a few questions:
1. Does the open hood MIL come on the dash cluster?
2. Have you checked the fuse related to the frunk lights?
3. Does the frunk open correctly

No cluster lights
Can't identify related fuse to it on the map
Frunk opens without issues.

And power is going to the bulb per multimeter.
