That’s funny but not necessary as she never rides in my toy cars as I previously mentioned. IE: “You drive them like a race car!”(I don’t…)

I was thinking about middie vs tail dragger yesterday. I bet the Boxta'/Cayman would be awesome at AutoX. Not only engine position but they are smaller lighter vehicles.

Agree with Jay - the Boxsters/Caymans just pick their way effortlessly through our autocrosses compared to the 911s.

Yesterday was the August AutoX for the local club. Weather was perfect. Track was fast with no painful obstacles. I must have been tired or simply "driving my hood" on the first two runs as I DNF'd on both runs. Can't be that I was unfamiliar with the course as I helped the designer build it and walked it before the driving started. I have never DNF'd...ever. I simply missed where I was supposed to go and blamed a 73 yo brain. Anyway after those two brain farts and a DNF like the old saying "is like kissing your sister" things got better. The P-car was, once again, flawless(unlike the driver). Again slaloms are like a non-event...lots of throttle and just make small steering adjustments. So much more fun when the car readily goes where you ask it without complaining. No understeer. No tire rollover(so next month I might drop front tire pressure a couple of pounds). Again at the end of the day I realized the car has more to offer than what I was asking.

Was so busy dismantling the course I forgot to take a pic of the time sheet(did I mention 73 yo brain) but I know my times were respectable.

Like another old guy said as we were walking to our cars to leave "AutoX is the second best thing you can do in a car". I added "legally" to which he agreed.

If you haven't tried it...do. It is safe and FUN!

AX is starting up again in a couple weeks here after 3 years, while we tried to find a new venue. I'll be in charge of tech inspections.

Will be instructing all newbies to always bring two spare iPhones.

Make sure your AX participants have all the proper safety equipment as displayed in your educational video: flame-retardant short-sleeved tee-shirt, mountain biking body armor, and loose in-car fire extinguisher.

This was obviously a meticulously-planned video undertaken by trained and licensed professionals; we can all learn from them!

I've got an old 4 and 5s in a drawer upstairs. I might try that for next months AutoX...NOT.

Where did you guys end up? Is it as large as your last area?

North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre
Chula Vista. Smaller than our old venue, but a pretty good site for AX. We were lucky when we had the old place... 128 acres of pavement.

I am assuming it is the Premier Parking lot? Surface looks good. Too bad they put curbs across the lot coming in from Entertainment Circle. That would have given you a much larger area. That is, of course, if you don't use the curbs as an obstacle to gain access to the south end!
