Finally replaced my turn signal switches today. I swear that the last time I did this there was a good DIY for the whole process, but I couldn't find it this time. The best I found was cobbling together a couple of Pelican tech articles which were uncharacteristically lacking in detail (e.g. full list of tools and tool sizes).

Edit: Added our own DIY for the process: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=452

Looks like I will have time to get the wheels refinished before Vegas...

You know, so I can run into another hunk of metal this summer.

Do you have any feedback on this system yet?

Quick impressions: the receiver picked up all 4 transmitters and displayed info as expected using the app. The parameters for the 4 LEDs that represent the four tires can be adjusted so the receiver can provide visual confirmation that the tires are within your "optimal" range without having to use the app.

As soon as the car comes back from the clutch work, I'll be able to spend more time with the gadget. I also picked up a dashcam for the 996...

Not to start another epic thread, but where do you keep your transmitter?

I'm going to go make it rain with a stack of 100's at Black Forest - well, more like with my Amazon Prime Rewards card - in to get the car out of hock.

In addition to the new clutch, eyeballing that part of the engine (ahem), and an oil change (the house oil for the M96 is TOTAL Quartz Energy 9000 5W40, for anyone who cares about such things); I also had them pop in a new magnetic drain plug to replace the one that died of old age last year. Based on my service writer's recommendations, the dual-row LN hybrid bearing they installed ~30K miles ago is being left in situ. Their techs have not seen a single failure of the LN dual-row retrofit since they started installing them.

I haven't been able to pump him for more info - he was on vacation when I dropped the car off - but they have enough M96 cred that I'ma keep my trap shut and do what the smart man tells me. Nothing they've opined on since I first dropped the car on them for my "post-purchase inspection" has been anything but spot on...

Fun fact: The labor price for my clutch was less than quoted; I got the C4 quote but only needed C2 labor after deleting all of the front wheel drive crap several years back. That gift just keeps on giving!

I'm debating this as well. The dual-row LN hybrid bearing in my MY2000 has about 30k miles on it and is 7 years old. My AOS is original so I'm anxious to get that replaced even though it's showing no signs of failure. Being that it's a cab and a tip, I've read that the engine needs to be out in order to do the AOS. I'm guessing that replacing the "thing" at the same time will cost another $1k. What to do?

That is one shiny car! Why you put funky sticker in rear quarter glass? 8-)
