I’ll get back with you in like a week. I’ve been in bed this entire weekend with the flu kicking my ass. Haven’t driven at night yet since I got the tint installed, but the reduced glare was something advertised in the brochure.

I picked up my grandson Mason from his elementary school today with the 996 instead of the usual ML350. The Porsche tends to stand out. :) Mason loves it. :)

Mason' youngest sister doesn't like riding in the 996. She goes in the back seatand sitting next to the transaxle and being closer to the engine is a little much for the little pixy. His older sister does like the car though, so when I have to pick up all three we have to take turns with the front seat. :) I may invite them over to help with the oil change and wheel cleaning. I finally have it figured out how to configure the car in the garage to get it up on four stands and still be able to get all four wheels off. So if the weather turns, no issue. I just have a hunch that getting all four of these @#$% matte wheels clean on the reverse sides will take longer than the oil change tasks. I don't think they've even been touched.

The back sides are not the same finish as the front, so it may be a challenge.

Interesting. My oldest loved the 996 when he was smaller because I installed the airbag bar so his car seat went in the passenger seat. As the only car he can ride up front in, he loved it. Since moving to a booster, however, he now likes riding in the back more as we let him ride back there without the booster since it's a pretty small area anyway.

He still likes my P!g the best though

Callifornia Festival of Speed starts Friday; I'm moving into the track Thursday night.

This year is especially cool - as I mentioned in the CFOS thread, my 18-year-old visually-impaired nephew will be my radioman during Saturday's track tours, and I'm getting him lined up with some pax-seat time for the autocross experience and everything else I can get him shoehorned into.

He misses out on a lot of "exciting" stuff because of his vision, but there's no reason he can't enjoy the hell out of the smells, sounds, and sensations that are unique to a race track.

The track tour staging area - where we wait to pick up lines of cars for the tours during the lunch break - happens to be right near the end of the banked straight; it's a phenomenal place to hang out and listen and watch the end of the pre-lunch session.

If the driving sims are back this year, I'm gonna get him into one of those, find an easier track, and see if I can co-drive him a lap or two in the simulator.

I'll be posting up pictures of his massive, stupid grin in a few days... ;)
