My 996 already had tint when I got it. I took it to a local shop & they used a meter of some kind & determined that it’s at 35%. (Side & rear only). I think that’s max under Kansas law, but I’m not 100% sure of that. I definitely would not want it any darker

Had a great drive back from Edmonton, AB to Vancouver, BC last Thu and Fri with my buddy Trevor. He was in his 911SC and I had the Truffle Hunter 996C4S. What a trip! We had every kind of weather except snow, mercifully. It was 1,700km of the twistiest roads we could find. Managed to get some gravel/dirt rally action as well as we inadvertantly found some unpaved bits. All good fun and some wild cross traffic. Here are some pics.
