Amazing how close parts of these cars are over all the years.

A mission I can fully embrace. I did a how-to after getting locked out of my 992. Not identical to the 996, but might help:

See, Billy; smart, successful 992 owners also get locked out of their cars. In a way - I'm smart and successful too!

Thanks for the contribution Tom!

Nice! Now we just need a DIY on how to get Billy out of that damn Honda.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Found the doodad, thank you theprf!

Next time you are in Vegas send me a PM and I will take you to the fanciest Taco Bell in Henderson.
(That's code for steaks and highballs.)

Here's a pic of the doodad for anybody that is curious. I'm adding it to my OP with prf's answer for anyone that finds this post.

If you aren't aware, the yellow thing in there is actually a pair of tweezers meant to help you pull the red post out. Personally I've always found them useless though as they don't grip the post well.

The yellow thing is a fuse puller if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps it does double duty.

Yep it's a fuse puller I failed to identify both times I had to pull fuses to reset my radio. I bought one. *thumbs up*

Yeah it is double duty. The long end is for the fuses and the short end (what is seen in the pic) is for the post.
