OK, I'll start. 1987 S4, automatic, Guards Red over Black, 82k miles. Bought it in fall 2014. First act was to do a TB/WP change, along with spending about 10 hours degreasing the underside of the car. Have since replaced the fuel hoses, tires, seat switches and several other minor things I forget about. Have pads and rotors sitting on my workbench. Nice enough car, and I should drive it more. Getting the seat switches fixed made it much more tolerable. I really wish it was a 5 speed, but I don't drive it hard anyway.

Hahahaha I love this place, you're allowed to have a sense of humor. Definitely home to a clown like me... but seriously I had to say something. I got screwed out of the opportunity to have a 79' 928-S (Guards Red 5 speed) and I passed on the opportunity to pick up a 951 (Guards Red like yours) and I'm still kicking myself over that one. The biggest one that got away from me though was a Black on Black 993 Carrera sitting on 965 Turbo -S Speed Lines......... The cars came in for a reseal (leaking oil behind the cylinders at the base of the block) and the guy decided to trade for a 996. I had the engine pulled and completely apart when the general manager asked me if I wanted to buy it and that I could pay myself to work on it during the week. I should've bought it. 68,000 miles and I could've picked it up $22k or if I wanted to pay for parts $15k......If ever a car I should've bought hands down it was that one. I didn't think I could have afforded it but in actuality I could easily have had that car with no financial stress. Seeing your collection sent me back to 2000 when I was a tech at the dealer.....

At the car wash Saturday morning, the PCA sticker just kind of popped, so I snapped a pic.

Took the 928 out in the rain today, and, hey, it didn't melt!

I never did brag on the 928 last fall, so time to rectify that. It got first place in the 928/968 class at the All- German Car Show back in October. Here’s a pic after the show and the trophy that the KCRPCA hands out.

As much fun as we make of the 928 series, they are still very attractive and futuristic looking some 40 years after the model debuted. And really comfortable cars to boot.

It was also included in the classic/exotic car display at the Kansas City Auto Show (new car show) at Bartle Hall in March, along with its stable mate shown on the other side of the yellow GT4.
