Downtown San Francisco - Auto Sport Haus on Ellis st. - Frank owner/mechanic great honest guy. In business for 30 years. Excellent reviews.

South San Francisco - Porsche Burlingame - AKA rector Porsche - Dealer in South Bay extremely thorough PPI. Expensive at $350 however they will spot the most minute cosmetic issues/oil leaks/etc. Hector is the service manager for past 20 years and has PPI'd my 993 10 years ago, 996C4S 6 years ago and my 2007 997C4S 2 months ago.

Jim P., owner has been working on European cars for over 20 years. Nice guy, honest and knows his stuff. He hires good people. George, front desk guy, is very helpful although he is a Vette person! I've seen most everything in this shop; Air cooled, 911's, Ferrari's and other European cars that I did not recognize but wanted! He has even fixed my 300ZX a couple of times and didn't complain too loudly. He will do what you ask on a PPI for a reasonable fee.

Not that there is anyone in this town who would need this service.
Never gonna make you cry...

They are down the street from my work, great group of guys that are super knowledgeable when it comes to Porsche. Grew up with two of their mechanics. I buy lots of parts from them as they are a great source for some oddball stuff that you cannot find easy here in the North East. You can fee free to drop my name there.

gnat wrote: Mon Jan 15, 2018 2:36 pm One of the best and most consistent things about the Porsche community is our willingness to help each other out. This is even extended to potential new owners who need help with getting a car looked at. This can be simply providing shop recommendations for a professional opinion, offering to go take an in person look at a car that is remote to you, or even if you are willing to go with the buyer on a local inspection/sale.

First some rules:
1) This should not be a conversation thread or a place to ask for assistance. Just post the shops you know and any offer look at car's yourself. Moderators should delete any posts not specifically offering shop info and/or inspection offers.

2) If you are providing local shops, please include their full name and a link to their website (or other contact info).

3) If you represent a shop (or have a connection to one), by all means post the info. Just please make your connection clear so everything is above board.

4) If you are offering to look at local cars, make sure PMs are enabled AND that you get email notifications for new PMs.

5) If someone has offered to look at local cars, use PMs to contact them.

6) If you are offering to look at local cars, give a clear idea as to your location and the distance you can travel. Any other limitations would be helpful too.

7) If you have a strong disagreement with someone's recommendation or inspection they provided, take it up with them and not in here.
