Yeah, that's one problem with getting up into the spendier years: the douchebaggery gets REALLY thick. It reminds me of a certain "what do you wear whilst motoring your 996" conversation...
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Same issue with my pop's C7. It's a MUCH nicer Corvette than mine; there is alcantara and leather and not a single exposed Phillips-head screw that I've noticed. It even has a cool smuggler's spot behind the infotainment display where pop keeps his VP9SK. However, each B-pillar is the size of an adult redwood...Chevy somehow made the car bigger overall while making the interior feel even more compact than the C4.

The door height came above your shoulders. I couldn't raise the seat to compensate or my head would touch the roof. I'm a tall guy. Didn't have the problem with the 996, but you can clearly see where Porsche lowered the top roof line. Interesting.

The douchery is also ramping up in 996ville over there - it seems that people are taking that whole "Porsche classic" thing seriously. The guy with font choice issues who spent $1K getting his three-spoke wheel wrapped may not deserve to be called a douche, but he isn't alone when it comes to seeming to take things with the car a bit seriously.
It's a shame that Johnny Irish isn't still around - I believe that this would actually be his time to shine on Rennlist.
