Not only illegal but definitely plenty stupid too.
Man pleads guilty after drone hits LAPD helicopter, conviction 1st of its kind
No one was injured in the September collision, but it's thought to be the first criminal conviction for unsafely using a drone.

More of a ground support thing...

So this weekend I noticed my son's 1:10 truck wasn't running right and one wheel wasn't returning to position effectively. I think I found the issue...

As Adam from MythBusters would say "Here's your problem."

Probably something to do with him not paying attention and running into things. Or there is an outside chance it could be related to his asshole dad that runs his 1:8 truck into the kid's at around 40mph...

Definitely him running into things.

So apparently the boy's isn't the only one to have a bit of shock trouble. Taking mine apart for some upgrades and found the bolts holding the top of the shocks in this state...

Can we say whoopsies

Edit: On further pondering, I'm damn impressed with this machine. These bolts are at the top of the shocks which means that the force to bend them traveled all the way up and there was no sign of damage to the lower mounts, arms, shocks, or the shock towers. The only 2 cars I had before this one used to break if you looked at them sideways. Damn impressive the beating this thing can take!

Damn man! You do know that the thing on your controller that looks like a miniature steering wheel really does control the steering on your truck, right?

Steering is for pussies. It's torque and bump steer or nothing! If I wanted to steer I would have gotten some silly on road car. Things either get out of it's way or it runs over them

Heh. Generally I get cocky after the first few batteries / tanks of nitro fuel - and then I pack whatever I'm driving into a curb at 35-40MPH and make straight things look like that.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Well...that tells me a lot about how you think...frightening! :D

Now let's talk about on road 1/8th scale nitro cars. Back in the day we were hitting over 65 mph actual down the straights and then turning at the end so the scale speeds were quite high. They are fun too. If you ran over somebody it usually doesn't work out well for you either. Skill entered into the equation as well as car set-up.
