That's what mine looked like when the water pump puked.

Well, if it is the water pump that is not the end of the world. When I bought the car last year I did not replace it, and I have no records of it ever being replaced. 75,000 miles, so probably due. Would rather not spend the money right now though...

Thanks! Full report on Friday after my Indy takes a look at it.
Sigh...

When a flatbed is involved, nobody except the shop wins.

Shockingly my trip with the dead battery and uncooperative frunk only cost me $800 (oil change, battery, dicking around getting the frunk open, and pulling the bumpers to make the emergency pulls actually reachable) not including the detailer cleaning the headlights. Going in I figured 1-1.5k easy.

OK - it did turn out to be the water pump. Could not tell if it was the original or not, but either way it was toast. So new water pump, new thermostat, coolant flush and while it was there oil and filter change. I helped the economy today. At least this is something that hopefully I wont have to deal with for quite a while.

I think a lot of us have been through that repair and while not cheap it should last for some time. Enjoy the reunion!
