"mail" as in the Mail application on your computer?

If so, that is just talking about how the application communicates with GMail. Don't mess with that. Next time you go to send/receive mail it should recognize that it doesn't have the correct password and prompt you for it.
Yes mail as in the mail application on my Mac. gmail has never asked for a password when using...ever. If I shouldn't mess with that box where/how do I change the pass word for gmail? Sorry computer illiterate here.
Just tell it to fetch your mail and send a mail to someone. If it doesn't already have the correct password, it will prompt you for the new one.

BTW - What Schnelly and I were previously babbling about is https://www.google.com/landing/2step/

I'm picturing you calling AT&T mobile to complain that your email isn't working. And that you have Verizon FIOS home internet.

I'm still on a dial-up modem. The buzzing and screeching is so irritating...and all my VCR players are flashing 12:00 and I don't know why!

Ok finally got the dial up to log in, realized I probably needed to go to Google directly to change the password on her gmail. Yep fixed it. Now who you calling old!?

Hmmm... Can't seem to abuse my mod powers to give you a new signature, so I guess I'll have to be happy with adding it to mine...

Now that you have that all figured out, and your connection is stable, you can log into IRC and see if anyone can steer you toward a faster modem. I hear some guys are pushing 9,600 baud over household copper, but I haven't seen such witchcraft in person yet...

I made a couple of other age-appropriate adjustments for you, Billy.
