His real name is Ed Mitchell...52 years old...found this out yesterday...I’m traveling and was on FB when I saw the news. He was a great guy and never met a stranger. He helped me about 10 years ago with some race seats and shipped them from Seattle. Hope you older guys remember him. RIP Ed!

Damn, that's only 3 years older than me. Do not approve.

I did not know Ed, but this is sad news regardless. As far as him being only 52, that seems pretty damn young to depart the earth. I turn 69 this Saturday, and to me, 52 is just barely out of adolescence.

RIP Mr. Mitchell.

Did not know him from RL, but that is way too young to leave this Earth. My hope is that his family and friends find Peace...

I can't say that I knew him, but recognize the username. Sad to hear, and way too young.

Although a sad occasion, Pete it is good to see you here.

Good to be seen! Ed had a crazy sense of humor on RL....he stepped back from RL years ago. He was always helpful on the technical part of 996’s to noobs...like I was at one time. We use to coordinate our avatars. One theme was “The Hoff”. He was an avid sailor with skillz. Don’t know what he died of but it was sudden. If you dig up some up old gems on RL you’ll be laughing. A real good shit.

I don’t mean to be a stranger..work has been nutz for a few years now and I’m pushing hard for the finish line! That and the new found love of vintage racing in my spit has pulled me away. I’ll work on being here more often.

Work is hard??? How hard can it be to nail some 2x4s together?

;)

Definitely nice to see you again even if you bring bad news. The user id sounds familiar, but nothing specific jumps to mind. Definitely a bummer though.

Hahaha...Martin, what a twat. Now that’s a wonderful thread to read. Still have the Raby 4.0. The car just gets better with age for a soon to be 15 yr old car. Did a DE this year and instructed plenty. The Spit has a spell on me!

Good to see you again Sneaky Pete. Nice to hear Ed was able to joke around and not get banned like me. RL doesn't seem to have the camaraderie like it did a few years ago. Maybe if they'd let me back in I'd bring a little life to the party!

I just saw this and I'm sorry to hear the news. Ivangene was a very active member of the 996 forum when I got my car 10 years ago. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I remember that he said he was stepping away from the forums to work on some Porsche-related invention, either a tool or a part. Too young, very sad.
