Post up your (legal) show & tell goodies...

I just got back from the range - ran 150 rounds through each; by the end of the session, I was only sucking marginally....

Nice Springfield. The 1911 design will always have a special place in my heart.

Thanks! I wanted a 1911 forever, but I'm far too cheap to hold out for a collectible original. The Springfield is 99% great. The trigger pull is ridiculous, and the hammer bite is wicked. I initially regretted going with the single-stack, but a double-stack would have been a waste - CA banned >10 round mags a couple of years after I bought it.

Awesome quality for the price point - even in California's outrageous gun market.

Not sure if it is as "wipe off the mud and pound in your tent stakes" reliable as the original - but no surprises yet.

I've shot both and will have my dad's Colt one of these days, but the Springfield isn't bad. The quality and tolerances were much better on the Colt, but for the price difference (especially now) I'd get a Springfield if I were paying for it and not dragging it through swamps with no chance to clean it.

No way would I go with a double stack .45. 9mm doubles don't feel right in my hand, but I can fire them. I held a double .45 once and have no interest in firing one. The grip is just too wide for me to hold comfortably.

Here are my guns. California liberal media provided the following classifications:

2 Glock assault Pistols.
2 assault rifles with high capacity drum magazines.
2 military grade fully automatic assault rifles with illegal high capacity 30 round drum magazines.

My P89 is double-stack and fits in my meatpaws pretty well - but Mrs. S. finds it too big & weighty w/ a full magazine, and I didn't want to buy another handgun she wasn't comfortable with. The R22 and the P89 are functionally equivalent, right down to their upside-down safeties...good for muscle memory, and we can waste .22LR instead of 9mm.

You will be surprised how hard those bastards hit if you get nailed in the eye. I was drinking with some buddies in my place, by midnight we decided to have a nerf war. A guy taking cover in my bathroom nailed a perfect eye shot from a pistol at my across the room when I poppes from the pool table. I got a fucking black eye that hurt for a week.

Heh. I've noticed in some of the newer Nerf commercials the kids are wearing eye protection and they through in the disclaimer that the glasses aren't included.

I've been thinking about doing a 3D printed "Nerf compatible" gun for my son, but considering the rate of fire and distance someone of them claim I do have concerns about him hurting someone if they are too close or he gets the wrong spot.
