No idea if they even have any decent wheels for your TT though. All that I have ever purchased from them are small parts like a non-smoker kit so not a recommendation. Warning - if you buy something you will get one or two emails a day from them.

Good idea - I had not thought of ECS Tuning. I went to check them out just now, and they do have several sets of wheels. But, they're pretty pricey, plus most are 19" wheels. They had a few 18" sets, but $3,000+ for a set. So, that's a no-go for cheapskate me. Interestingly, they had 20" and even 22" wheels for the 996. I can't even imagine what a set of double-dueces would look like on a 996!

22's????? Yikes. That would definitely give a ghetto look. Maybe you could add spinners...

I broke down and placed the order for the General GMax and Flow One F2 combo. Shipping confirmed. They arrive this Friday. I will install them and post pics over the weekend. Of course, that means I will have to detail the car, but for one fleeting moment in time, the backsides of my wheels will be as clean as Einsteiger’s!!!

The tires and wheels arrived yesterday (Friday) afternoon, and the plan was to install them and spend some quality time behind the wheel this weekend.

However, if you count closely, you'll notice something a bit strange: one, two, three, uhh, where's #4?!

Thanks to UPS, one got misdirected. Looks like it will come in Monday - if I'm lucky.

Anyhow, I am very, very pleased with the look of both the tires and the wheels. Keep in mind that both the tires (General GMax RS) and the wheels (Flow One Race Spec F2) were the cheapest options on the market. I fully realize not to expect "ultimate" performance from them, but I think of the car, the tires, the wheels or me, we know what the weak link in the chain is. They're fine for a couple of auto crosses and fun runs each year along with many trips to car shows and museum events.

Not to make you worry but let's hope the fourth one doesn't show up with the patented UPS "shredded" option...

So, I went ahead and swapped out the 3 wheels I got in. Although the new wheels are almost the same color, I think they are a huge upgrade cosmetically. They also fill out the wheels wells a bit better. I always felt that the old wheels needed spacers, but these are just about perfect. They are 1/2 inch wider on front and 1 inch wider at the rear.

Hopefully the right front arrives Monday.

Tell me the total diameter wheel plus tire is the same on the old compared to the new. If not I wouldn't drive it much that way because of the all wheel drive...but maybe I'm just paranoid.

Oh definitely not driving it like that. Just pulled it right back into the garage.
