Camera thread
Camera thread
I ordered it back in December naively thinking the estimated availability which was in January. I also picked up their 80mm lens at the same time so she had something to open for Xmas (this was supposed to be a Xmas/anniversary gift). It looked like we were getting close in March, but then COVID hit and screwed up the world. I finally picked it up this past Thursday.
Hasselblad 907x Special Edition w/80mm lens: Here is one of her first pics with it (I did crop it down some): Back at the turn of the century she got a photography degree from our local community college. I had a co-worker that had a collection of Hasselblad gear that he let her borrow. She loved it, but the gear was way outside what we could afford. We continued to look at the used film gear over the years, but prices continued to stay high (saying nothing about dwindling options to develop).
Then this time last year HB announced this camera for a reasonable (for a medium format camera) price and it's main feature is that it will act as a back for the old film bodies. So we can start collecting the old film gear (which has finally dropped to tolerable levels) so that she can shoot whichever format she wants.
So now she just needs to see what she can do with it.

Here is that shot again, but cropped through the HB app rather than on my phone:
Another she got of the dog (also cropped):
My first picture with it. The focus isn't where I wanted it, but it was through a glass door and in really poor light:

Re: Camera thread
For comparison, just shot with a Samsung Galaxy S10 in portrait mode, which about as fancy as it gets. Good camera gear definitely makes a difference. But even if I had good gear, I wouldn't know how to use it.

Another cute dog! Is that a no bark device or an electric fence deal or neither?FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:00 am For comparison, just shot with a Samsung Galaxy S10 in portrait mode, which about as fancy as it gets. Re: Camera thread
Indeed. Thus why the pic I took is badly focused. We've all gotten spoiled by what our phones can do, but serious photographers have real skill to get that truly perfect shot.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:00 am For comparison, just shot with a Samsung Galaxy S10 in portrait mode, which about as fancy as it gets. Re: Camera thread
Anti-bark, but it just beeps and buzzes, no shock. We've only had it for a few days, but it's basically useless.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:42 amAnother cute dog!
