I don't think you need to stop by the Tyson plant to see the car .

Hey it's a small town and I'm a high risk citizen. I would love to help, but I have to pass.

Completely unrelated (Welcome to the Outpost) I wonder who is making those knockoff Crayola-font Carrera stickers. I thought Brian996 made his own and then I saw that coupe Johnny posted. Someone is testing us...

Hah! Brian996 was my immediate thought when I saw Johnny's pic and that the owner removed the sticker because people didn't like it

Not his car though (good thing from JI's perspective I think).

So I drove a ratty 99 C4 today...really a mess...but I love the response of the engine when combined with a manual trans. I don't remember my first 3.6 being this much fun to rev. So now I'm thinking I should get a stick except for all the sensible reasons I should get a tip. And I really like the white tip that I keep thinking about...but I have reservations about the seller and so I put off calling him and pushing him to do something about the clunk in the rear of the car. And reading a Porsche transmission training manual on all the manual and tip from the 993 through 2002 996...and the tip seems like a lot of technology that gets expensive to repair and is more difficult to work on because you have to drop the engine and the trans as a unit.

In the mean time there is a very very nice 99 manual just 100 miles away...has all the right things done service wise and about 81k miles. But the silver with grey interior just leaves me cold. Watching the auction lunacy on BAT makes me shake my head and wonder. But then I sure can't say that I'm any smarter than they are...I'm just stupid in my own way. Yes driving in LA in a manual is really a pain. Yes, my body and reactions aren't what they used to be and a tip would allow me to age more gracefully. But winding out that 3.4 today, and the razor edge responses with the manual, was truly addictive. And this was in a crappy car. I really want to nail something down by Sunday. I've become like a drunken sailor with a month's pay and 24 hour leave in the whore house capitol of the US Navy.
