I'm not sure if my original statement is actually correct. In the V1 G2 manual, it says it can be powered by the Savvy.02TX996Cab wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 10:58 amWell shucks, that means if I upgrade to a G2 I'll need to rewire one or both P-cars with a direct-wire kit. At least I should be able to reuse the wiring from the outlet of the savvy up to the V1.sweet victory wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 8:49 am I looked at the savvy and unfortunately it cannot work as the power supply for the G2. See note section at bottom: https://store.valentine1.com/Store/item.asp?i=20220
Thanks for sharing this, and good luck with your install.

I just called Valentine. (Amazing that a human picked up the phone instantly after Mike's voice plays)
I am an idiot. It says eSavvy cannot serve as the powersource...eSavvy is the feature in the app! The Savvy (physical unit) can power the V1G2 just fine.

Today, I started it - and it ran perfectly.
This contrasts spectacularly with YESTERDAY, when I made the mistake of washing the bish and then going to work for a couple of hours...only to enjoy the obligatory runs-like-poo-because-coil-packs ride home.
The Fisters sound even better when one of the cylinders isn't firing, BTW. In fact, it's amazing how much a 5/6ths M96 spitting gas into one cat sounds like a finely-tuned Subaru...

Welcome to my world.
The nice thing about being an idiot is that every day is full of discovery. And confusion.

Hey now! The youngest kid tells me the Subaru engineers worked for years perfecting their flat four sound!
Never gonna make you cry...

The 4-cylinder boxers sound to me like a panel truck with a rotten muffler.

To me the Subie boxers sound like a twin cylinder John Deere tractor...with a bad muffler.
Never gonna make you cry...

I made an appointment to drop the car off for the IMS Solution on Sunday. Checkbook wrenching is where its at, baby! Actually, even if I had a lift and the tools, I'm not sure I'd do this myself. I'm trying a new Porsche-only indy who gets great reviews. Most important, I enjoyed discussing this with him. Pics of completed Solution to come next week hopefully.

Yeah, I think you’re best to leave this one to the professionals. I wouldn’t attempt it myself even with a lift. And I doubt that I would buy an M96 with an owner-installed IMS bearing. Especially knowing what we know can happen when somebody tries to DIY an IMS bearing.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:06 am I made an appointment to drop the car off for the IMS Solution on Sunday. PTSD moment:
Proud owner of a Flat6-powered 2002 996 Cab, 2016 GT4, 2019 Ford F-150 "Country Cadillac", and 2005 Ford Focus (not so hot hatch) daily driver. And a Wright ZTO 52" to keep several acres of grass-like substance neat and tidy!
