What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Very nice...
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Little bit of frustration over the weekend. The contractors working on my roof didn’t put the drainage plates in my driveway back correctly and when I drove over them one popped up and did this.
Took it to an old school, works by himself in a little garage, auto body guy and his estimate is less than $200. So while I hesitate to say this was positive, it looks like I’ve got a new auto body guy.

Pics when complete. Did you run the roof contractors off? I would have!OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 10:09 am Little bit of frustration over the weekend. Ouch that sucks.
At least from that shot it does look like a pretty simple fix as it looks like it's just paint work. $200 could be a good or bad price depending on how he fixes it. If he properly blends everything and matches the color $200 is a great deal. If he just cleans it up and sprays it, not so much.
Hopefully he does a good job and you've found "a guy" to know.

He mentioned sanding it down and the adhesive he likes to use with the clear coat. I will definitely check back in, but he mentioned he had to blend it in. I trusted him immediately, mostly because he told me he “wasn’t going to dick me because it’s a Porsche.” We’ll see.gnat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 10:17 am Ouch that sucks.

They really left a mess. I called them back to power wash the compressor fuel stains they left in the patio. Unfortunately, I didn’t pull the car into the garage until night time or I would have noticed the grate.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 10:17 amPics when complete. I like rocker panel stripes, but really like the looks of the center stripe. That came out really well. Gets me to thinking . . . I certainly don't want to cover up any of the red on my car (I mean, who would?), but maybe a brighter red stripe down the center might just be the thing.Hatchetf15 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:44 am I think I’m finally done fiddling and canoodling with the car for 2019. Meh, maybe. X74 alignment finishes it up today.
