Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
The guy needs to buy a fwd car. Unlike DTM, I don't think that track days and driver's Ed are an answer for everyone. Driving is a skill, and just like any skill some people will excel at it while others fail.
Driving fast is a skill, a very sensitive and polished skill. I've had multiple rwd cars and never even dinged a wheel: 240sx, 318ti, 323ci, 330i, 540i, xjr, 5.0 mustang, e55k, 996 2c, thunderbird....are the ones I can think of right now. There isn't enough space to write all of the cars I fucked with when I worked in the dealerships in college. At Honda dealer the GM referred to me as "fast and furious" for my exuberant driving on every car my 18 yo self could get my hands on. Drifting a lease return s2000 through 4 lanes of traffic across Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco is fun as hell . My last driving event was Mike's porsche experience in ATL, my instructor who was a professional racecar driver said that I was the fastest student he ever had for what it is worth.
If you are in good terms with the guy, I would offer him 2006+ civic SI.

Thanks man! I appreciate your nice comment. A summer of acquisition and 6 months of my life editing those videos.
I hope it helps you out and clears up a lot of mystery on these engines.

I would in a second but the wife wouldn't come with me. My parents retired to Port Charlotte and I would visit them. Humid but who cares when you're laying on the beach. You guys do have hurricanes occasionally so there is that.
BTW it is now snowing...

Looky what got delivered to the museum today - brand new from factory - 5 miles on odometer . I went to lunch with the factory delivery guy - interesting guy from England who is a racer. Definitely had a Ford vs. Ferrari flavor to the whole experience.

Well, it fits in well with the Fiero month display, and Fieros are kinda Italian.

Actually, the Fiero display is interesting in it's own right. Obviously a bit overshadowed now, but still . .
