I would respond but your comments are outside the proper area and I do not wish to be warned again...best-selling author, occasional Gitmo AirBNB guest, and internationally-renowned automotive fashion consultant John Ireland wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:00 amThe only tip I gave them was a tip of my Biden/Harris hat. Then I wiped the bottom of my shoes on them before getting in the car. Today I've decided not to do Penance for my sins but instead watch the auctions on BaT. A very nice C4 like mine is up and I want to see what it goes for.

I hope your behavior is a joke ignoring the unnecessary political jabs. Hoi polloi already expects us to be assholes and one of my favorite parts of being an owner is proving them wrong.

Changing the subject, because like Billy I am tempted to respond to the "brown skinned" comment and my comment would not be charitable. ugh.
SO ANYWAY -- got my delivery of Porsche's finest Classic Motor Oil, which promises to cure what ails ya. Not this weekend with my bum leg but next for sure I'll be doing the next oil change with it. The important thing is that I'll be draining Ferry's golden elixir from the car, so I'll be sending out for an UOA and I'm curious to see if there are any changes with the new oil.
Then, it's going away. Got my eye on a nice mini van for winter driving. Again, ugh.

I chased the sunrise across the desert this morning...
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Why you be driving such a nice car like that on dirt? You own a Jeep right...?

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Thanks, Billy!
The 996 was just a few feet off the pavement for those photos. I haven't really done any significant off-roading in the 996 since I went mud-bogging at the Salton Sea a few years back. I think it might still have been a C4 at the time, which would have been handy.
After 8 years of almost entirely trouble-free service (PLENTY of spending on worn parts, deferred maintenance, and PM during that time - but it's always been a runner), and with 100,000 miles less than 100 miles away (the last 70,000 of those have been mine), there is NO way I can complain about owning the 996 thus far.

Some of us with all wheel drive (or formerly so in Schnelly's sacrilegious case) Porsches aren't afraid of getting them a bit dirty and getting off the beaten path.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 6:03 pmWhy you be driving such a nice car like that on dirt? You own a Jeep right...?
Some of my best runs in the 996 have been down gravel roads

OH MY GOD!! I won't even assign mine in my will to the oldest kid because he lives down a gravel road and, frankly, doesn't care for the inside and outside appearance of his current cars...and he is the long time Porsche fanatic.gnat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:01 amSome of us with all wheel drive (or formerly so in Schnelly's sacrilegious case) Porsches aren't afraid of getting them a bit dirty and getting off the beaten path.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 6:03 pm

You do realize that the AWD system in your car has a direct lineage from the 959 right?32wildbilly wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:44 amOH MY GOD!!
