That's my problem around here everything in wheat country seems to be arrow straight. I need to wander over to the Missouri River areas next spring. Got to be some twisties over there

I was across town yesterday in the 928 and decided to take the long way home via a road I’ve never taken. Despite it being inside the metro area, it was a very curvy and hilly stretch through a forest and farmland - a very nice surprise.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 5:47 pm That's my problem around here everything in wheat country seems to be arrow straight. Ha, not quite. Noland Road, south of 40 Highway in Independence/Raytown, which is east of KCMO proper, but west of 2 major suburbs of Blue Springs & Lee's Summit:32wildbilly wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 5:08 am W. 63rd St/Shawnee Mission Parkway/Ward Parkway?FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 6:07 pm

Not exackery the same demographic of the Ward Parkway area Billy is referring to. Here's a typical street scene of that area:
BTW, the family and I are headed down to the Plaza (Ward Parkway area) at 3:00 pm today for early dinner and to take in the Plaza lights:

HHHMMM never been that far south on Nolan Rd. Looks interesting.
I'm sure the folks along Ward Parkway wouldn't mind you ripping through there WFO!
Lee Summit is where the Son-in-Law is from.
Best place I have found to see the Christmas lights in the Plaza is from a north facing room across the street at the hotel that was once the Ritz Carlton with an expensive drink and a hot cutie!...or so I've been told...
And yes the CHEFS are awesome!

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Our favorite thing to do is show up at McCormick & Schmick's by 3:45 pm and go to the bar for happy hour.
The happy hour starts at 4 pm, but if you're not there by 3:45 pm, you have no chance at getting a table because their food deals are great. We always get one of these to split for dessert:
The Plaza lights come on at 4:45 pm, and the bar has a great view of them. Finish up about 5:15 pm and go for a walk. Beautiful weather here today with highs in the upper 60s, so we should have a nice walk. Not quite shorts weather, but for sure we're not going to freeze.

Looks nice. I like eating in big spaces like this, something about the echoes. There's a restaurant called Guastavino's built under the 59th street bridge that sounds packed where there's two people in there. I love it.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 9:14 am Our favorite thing to do is show up at McCormick & Schmick's by 3:45 pm and go to the bar for happy hour.

I haven't eaten in a restaurant (or been to NYC, for that matter) since last March. I sat outside of my local a couple times before it got freezing. Looking forward to getting this over and out.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
I got the shipping notice for my $996 worth of hoses, O-ring, crush washers, etc. to fix the oil leaks for good. I also adjusted my MaxJax posts to 98" between the toes. So, it looks like I can't put off the engine out service any more. I'll be removing the engine, fixing the P1325 bank 2 cam deviation, fixing the oil leak, rebuilding the rear driveshafts, replacing most of the coolant hoses, adding a temperature gauge to the Tiptronic, cleaning off the oil mess, and probably replacing a lot more parts than I have intended to.

Damn, sounds good. I'd love to get my engine out to do all the things I want to do proactively. But the garage floor is a pitted mess, so that comes first, but then there are 10 jobs around the house before that, yadda yadda.theprf wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 10:47 am I got the shipping notice for my $996 worth of hoses, O-ring, crush washers, etc. to fix the oil leaks for good. Envious of your setup. Where are the oil leaks coming from?
