Back in the 70's when I was in the Navy and we were at sea for six months, that was the only movie we had for like three months. Must have watched that movie 30 times over. It got so funny because everyone on the mess deck knew the words and we would say them out loud.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:25 am Ok...Ok you watched the movie The Exorcist...right?5chn3ll wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:11 am ...especially demonic/satanic references
The one time I effed with a/an Ouija board, the chick I was with and I were just messing around w/ it - and the planchette kept spelling "box cutter".
About an hour later, her brother rolled in from the ER with stitches up his arm - from ripping it open with a box cutter at his job as a shelf stocker.
I recognize there are several possible explanations...none of which really encourages further use of Ouija. I do not believe in hocus-pocus shit, but humanity does not yet have a complete understanding of the electrochemical processes in the brain...I think it's _possible_ that the Ouija board is a potential outlet for communicating with the collective human subconscious. But it could also be cardboard bullshit.

I have never actually seen the movie. I did used to hangout at the "Exorcist steps" in my late teens down in DC though.

Now I may need to watch it again. 70s horror movie, which means it takes its time building up the tension, then it really lets you have it. Not just about the exorcism, but the priest wondering if he is a good enough person to confront the devil. Ooof.
Sort of in the same atmosphere as The Omen if you've seen that one.

Like The Omen but with copious amounts of pea soup.

I turned 51 last Thursday... not sure how that happened.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.
