Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Looking at sweet victory's garage reminds me that I need to clean out all of the kid crap from my garage, since we are down to one kid living at home. My oldest actually dragged his huge, dirty, old, beat-up baseball equipment bag out of the trash last summer after I threw it away. He hasn't used it since he was 17, and now he's working for VW Group of America about 2 miles from gnat's house in the DC area. Sorry, son, but I'm tired of moving that thing around and stepping over it all of the time. I want my garage back!

More like 12 miles. No where near the awesomeness of your garage! Not a lot of homes in LA with large garages unless you drop some serious coin.

Some times smaller spaces are nicer because you cannot cram so much crap into themsweet victory wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 2:49 pmNo where near the awesomeness of your garage! Not a lot of homes in LA with large garages unless you drop some serious coin.
Effectively using the space is some times the most beautiful aspect like Jack Olsons garage.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Jack's garage is pretty awesome. My garage will be quiet sterile in comparison...just the epiq, the lift, and hopefully as little crap as possible. I don't plan on staying in this house for more than a few years, so basically tackling projects that will up resale. Renovating garages doesn't seem to help resale too much, so not going crazy here.

Finally. Yes, the system works great. Notifications are handled both by the app and by the TPMS receiver via the multi-color LEDs on the sides that represent each tire. I wish Nonda had located the LEDS such that they were more visible from the top - I'd prefer to mount the device somewhere out of the way but still visible, but the orientation of the LEDs really limits where I can put the receiver and actually be able to see all four LEDs.
That's a nit, though - overall, it does what it says. I haven't gone back and installed the retention kits that prevent the sensors from unscrewing from the valve stems...I should probably do that sooner than later.
Here's a screenshot of the app:
...and the receiver w/ status indicator LEDs...

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.
