Congrats amigo! I hope it all works out! Unless of course this is an imaginary OP car, in which case I hope the unicorn semen lubricating the IMSB runs dry... :D
Thank you B-Ran! (what kind of name is "b-ran"?) hahaha

Naw, it's the real deal. I'm supposed to get everything squared away at the bank tomorrow provided the seller emails me a copy of the title. I'm having to get a loan for half of the amount. No worries there, I'm good for the money since I have collateral in one of my investment accounts. I sent the seller a $500 deposit to hold the car. Fortunately, he accepted PayPal. That way if the car and seller are bogus, I can file a claim and get my deposit money back. I'm hoping the seller is not yankin' my chain though. In other words, I hope I don't get there and find something clearly wrong with the car (e.g. intermix, loud ticking, slipping clutch, MIL, etc.) or something crazy like, "By the way sir, there is a lien on the car."). He says everything is fine - "need nothing", but you know how that can go, right? I checked the CarFax and no service has been done on the car for quite sometime. There's always a chance the car was serviced by a shop that doesn't report back to CarFax. I truly hope it all works out. It will be nice to have a 996 back in my garage.

p.s. Don't trust anything that OP says. He's always going off the beaten path. If it wasn't for Andy, he wouldn't have lived to see Happy Days. ha! :D

Yea, it's a coupe. Don't think I'll get another cab. If I consider another convertible, it will be something my wife wants. She owned a BMW convertible one time and loved it.

And, I'm not going to hold my breath either. Just bought a used Volvo for my daughter. Asked all the right questions, ran the VIN, checked out the seller's background (e.g. ID), etc. I asked he him clearly if there were any liens on the car. He said no, but come to find out the joker got a 30-day "title pawn" loan against it. He was still adamant that it wasn't considered a lien. I talked to the title pawn place and they confirmed they sent into the state of GA as a lien. As so when I found that out, I refused to pay the seller the total amount. I met at the main branch, paid the loan off and gave the remainder to the seller in cash. Got a bill of sale, but still had wait for the title to come in from the state before I registered it. This is the kind of crap that gets people shot. I had to spend many hours on the phone handling that one transaction and drive 3 hours to pick it up. If I didn't check everything out up front, I could have been robbed of some serious change.
